August Ferdinand Wittenborn Jr. was born Ausgust 11, 1923 to August an Hedwig Altwein Wittenborn in New Braunfels, Texas. His father was a farmer. He enlisted in the Army May 23, 1944 an was released January 10, 1946. He attended the University of Texas at Austin, playing in the Longhorn Band.

 

Adelheide A. Wittenborn

Adelheide A. Wittenborn age 82, passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2006 in Austin, Texas. She was a resident of Austin for 60 years. Prior to residing in Austin, she was a resident of Seguin. Adelheide was a member of St. Austin's Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, August F. Wittenborn. She is survived by her daughter, Heidi M. Wittenborn of Jonestown, Texas; son, Warren Wittenborn and wife, Devran of Bee Cave, Texas and grandchildren, Brian, Alan and Rachel all of Bee Cave, Texas. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 8, 2006 at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Blvd. A Funeral Mass will take place at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 9, 2006 in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home. Interment will be private. A reception to honor Adelheide's life will be held from 11:45 a.m.-1:45 p.m., Wednesday, August 9, 2006 at Westminster Manor, Harris Bell Hall, 4100 Jackson Avenue (parking and entrance through Health Care wing on Bull Creek).
