ILLUSION OF THE WEEK!

I don't know who to credit for this interesting illusion, but it has several features. First, if you center it on your screen and just stare at it, you will see the central elliptical area change confusingly and in subtle ways with respect to the remainder of the image, which serves as background. Second, if you scroll the browser window up and down slightly, you will see other changes, particularly in the border of the elliptical area, with respect to the rest of the pattern. In both instances, this seems to be a variant of the Ouchi Illusion... an illusion which, in most of its variations and versions, I definitely do not like. But I like this variant. Subtle... minimal.

Another very recent illusion (January, 2010) by the great Prof. Kitaoka. Scroll the browser window up and down a bit and notice how the dots “run around” with respect to the wavy lines.

Onward to the next illusion?
