The Mystoplane set consisted of some pieces of very thin foil, so thin that when delicately picked up and placed in the air, they tended to float and drift rather than fall. Having launched your foil plane, you rubbed your Mystowand with fur and brought it near the plane. The plane then was sucked down to collision with the wand. You delicately shook it off, and then the magic happened, the plane would stay just above your wand and you could fly it around (outside on a day with no breeze at all, but preferably indoors). If the plane happened to collide with a wall, it would then jump back to the wand, and then be repelled again for another session of flight. If you want to try this today, try seperating the very thin foil that is on the outside of the wax-paper wrapping for sticks of chewing gum. If you can get off a piece the size of a quarter, you are in business. Your wand can be just about anything; see the list of rubbing and rubbee candidates on the previous page.
