File and Directory Actions

Creating a Directory

To create a directory in the current directory, simply choose Create Directory from the Choose Action: drop down box. You will be prompted for the name of the directory to create. Enter the name, and then click on the OK button.

Deleting Files and Directories

Select the files and/or directories to delete by clicking on the checkboxes to the left of their names. If you are deleting a directory, you must be sure that the directory is empty or the deletion will fail. Next, select the Delete Items from the Choose Action: drop down box. You will get prompt asking you to confirm the deletion. Click on the OK button to confirm the deletion.

Changing Permissions

To change the permissions on a file or directory, first select the files and/or directories you wish to modify by clicking the checkboxes at the left of their names. Next, select Chmod Items from the Choose Action: drop down box. A window will open allowing you to set the read, write, and execute permissions of the file for each of the three categories owner, group, and all users. Simply check the desired checkboxes to enable the respective permission on the file (any permissions left unchecked will be cleared). Then click on the Save button to actually perform the permission changes.

Downloading Files

To download a file, simply click on the Download icon located to the right of the file name. Note that downloading an entire directory of files at one time is not possible, so to get all the items in a directory you must first navigate into the directory and then download each file in it.

Uploading Files

To upload one or more files to the current directory, click on one of the Browse buttons near the top of the window, navigate to the file which you wish to upload, and click the OK button. The filename will appear in the text box, then click on the Upload File(s) button and your file will be uploaded to the current directory.
