1.  Electric flux, outgoing flux from a box.

2.  Outgoing flux from a point charge

o   S1: a sphere

o   S2: arbitrary shape

o   Gauss law: Valid for any S and any charge distribution enclosed by S. 

3.  Uniform charged shell:

o   r>R, kQ/r2; r<R, E=0.

o   Flux through an S, which is within a conducting medium.

o   Surface charge densities: q’ and q”.

4.  Long Rod: From Q/L and r find E.  1/r -dependence

5.  Disk: (Q/A)/2e0 ~1/r0-dependence
