I enrolled in Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 1988 and got my
B.S. degree of physics in 1991. From 1991 to 1995, I continued my studies in
physics in Institute of Theoretical Physics,
Academia Sinica, and got my M.S. degree in 1994. From fall 1995 to
Spring 2001, I studied at Physics
Department of The University of Texas at
Austin and got my Ph.D. degree in May 2001. I joined Chongqing University of Posts and
Telecommunications in China as a professor from 2003 to 2011.
Currently I am a full professor in the School of Physics in Huazhong University of Science and Technology.
I am also an adjunct professor in the Astronomy Department of Beijing Normal University and in the CASPER center of Baylor University.
My daugter was born on October 18, 2001 in Portland
and my son was born on July
27, 2003 in Beaverton.

Cosmology: InflationIn 1980s, Alan Guth
proposed the inflationary scenario, i.e., the Universe experienced a very short period
of expansion with acceleration in early times, to solve the problems
encountered in the standard big bang cosmology. Inflationary models predict
that the geometry of the universe is flat. Inflation models also give good
explanations on primordial density fluctuations which seed the formation of
large scale structure. Recently WMAP and PLANCK data make it possible to test
inflationary models more precisely. dark energyIn 1998, the SCP and HZT groups
independently discovered the evidence that the Universe is in a phase of
accelerating expansion. The simplest explanation of this phenomenon is to
introduce the cosmological constant. To avoid the cosmological constant
problem, a type of exotic matter with antigravity force, dubbed as dark energy, is usually invoked to explain the
accelerating universe.
